On July 24, 2008 RGGI Inc. released its final notice for the first regional auction of CO2 allowances, scheduled for September 25, 2008. Six states are expected to participate in the auction: Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. About 12.5 million 2009 vintage allowances will be available for auction. As previously announced, the auction will have a uniform-price, sealed-bid format. There are no restrictions on who can participate, but all interested parties must meet applicable deadlines described in the auction notice.
